Desktops

Every research desktop computer should be equipped with its own fixed IP address. Contact cron for the same. cron will also ensure the computer is behind MIT's firewall. You are welcome to connect to the computer remotely, though this will require a VPN connection if off campus. More information on IS&T's VPN service can be found here: ist.mit.edu/vpn

Laptops

Laptops should use the MIT Secure wireless network when on campus, and always use MIT's VPN service when off-campus.
