Security

Though public cluster computing is extremely secure, user behavior can quickly compromise that security. To ensure the integrity of your public computing environment (and your privacy), please follow the following recommendations:

  • Logout of the computer when through. Wait until the login window appears before leaving the computer
  • Do not lock computer screen. When through using computer, logout
  • Do not store files on the local hard drive. Store files on AFS, DFS, a cloud service or personal external drive
  • Do not share your account with others
  • Do not share our reveal your Kerberos password to anyone, not even cron staff
