Adobe

Adobe CC (Creative Cloud) is available to students. Visit ist.mit.edu/adobe/cc for details.

Advisory: Because Adobe have adopted a subscription licensing model, once you graduate you will not be able to open your Adobe files again without purchasing an Adobe subscription. In other words, if you choose to use Adobe, they've got you for life.

Adobe Alternatives

We list below some free, open source Adobe CC-like software for Macintosh and Windows (most of which are also installed on cron cluster computers). There are many other Adobe compatible suites available at a cost: Corel Draw, and dozens more for the Macintosh (Linform, Intaglio, Pixelmator, Akorn, Iris, Omni Graffle, Affinity (recommended)--many not costing more than $50). Try searching the internet for full range of alternatives. Adobe are not the only game in town.
